Title: 28 November 2015 Boisdale Canary Wharf
Post by DutchBrand on 12th Jun, 2015 at 8:32pm
On 28 November 2015, P.J. Proby, backed by The Pacemakers and Sophie, will perform for an hour at the Boisdale Restaurant on Canary Wharf in London. So better write this date in your diary for a special night out!
More details will follow later...
:D

Great news....a 2015 gig for P.J. I'd love to be there but I can't figure out the best way to arrive at Canary Wharf.
Leave my car in Dover & maybe get the train to London? Or leave my car at my sister's house in Canterbury & get a train from there to London?
Of course I would also need a nights accommodation near to the Boisdale Restaurant before catching the train on the Sunday back out of London.
  Some thinking to be done!

I am thinking of the travelodge, very good price for London and it seems to be about a mile away but won't book anything until we get the word :'(and that will be a whole year to the day since I have seen him on the 28th November in Crawley. Far too long. :D Now just have too wait for the right moment to tell Jim where he is going :-*

I will probably stay at The Britannia as that weekend there is a London weekend tour from my area staying there so that will save me trashing through London. Should be ok as I have stayed at quite a few Britannia .
Will we be booking a table altogether. Looking forward to it.

Hope there is a hotel or B & B a few minutes walk from the Boisdale venue. Hopefully with a car park.

We booked at the Ibis London Docklands, but I believe it is fully booked now, apparently it is about a 10 walk away from the venue. Boisdale are beginning to announce November events, wish they would hurry up as I like to get it all arranged.Perhaps we can request to be seated near together, once we have all booked. :D

All at the same table like it was in Nottingham last year in April for a meal before the P.J. show was excellent. Hopefully the same can happen at Boisdale in November.
  Ron  :)
P.S. I'm still waiting for my sis to let me know if she's attending or not as I'll be getting a lift to Canary Wharf with her from Canterbury.

Great to see more & more P.J. fans deciding to go to Boisdale.
I was considering it & was intending to go with my sis & her partner from Canterbury up to London. But he has a son who has been in a spot of bother lately & so has to stay & keep his eye on him.
Plus if I travelled from Belgium on the Channel Tunnel train all of the latest problems caused by "immigrants" could stop me arriving on time.Same goes for the Channel boats & the hold ups caused to the lorries, once again by people trying to smuggle themselves to England. I could pre-pay for everything & not even get to Canary Wharf. :-/
So I'll think about Mill Rythe now in January & hope that the customs/border controls are more back to normal by then.
  Ron
P.S. To all who do go......ENJOY!  ;D

Sorry you won't be there Ron but I am sure we will see you at Mill Rythe, sounds like that could be good! Perhaps you could persuade Linda to come as Portsmouth has some lovely shops. Ha ha it could cost you a fortune.  :D

I've never visited Portsmouth ever. Looks a lovely place. I am seriously considering Mill Rythe but Linda is worried the weather will be snowy & icy so she'd prefer to stay at home LOL! I do hope to attend with or without 'er indoors!
Ron  ;)

Hope you make it Ron, sorry you are missing Boisdale, but it will be an expensive time for you with all your travel as well, Mill Rythe sounds good according to friends of ours so it is only an hour run from us so am really looking forward to it and Portsmouth is great so we will be going over there in the daytime.

Well, I would like to say to you all, if you have a small chance to go to Boisdale go for it!!!
It will be a great show with 30 minutes of the Pacemakers and at least 1 hour of P.J. Proby. The dinner is famous and will be fantastic! Treat yourselves to something very special in the posh area in London! There is a not so expensive hotel nearby that more fans will be attending:
Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login
Björn will be there as well, as will Lorraine Pearson and others probably as well!

It will be wonderful I'm sure. Originally I was going to attend with my sis Christine & her partner who live in Canterbury. They know London like the back of their hands. But Chris' partner has a problem with his son & has to care for him for a good few months. It's all to do with the dreaded booze!
Chris said why don't you go alone Ron but London & it's rules & regulations in different zones is too complicated for me if I come by car.If I come via train via the Channel Tunnel the "migrants" could bugger everything up & my train may not get there on time in central London. And everything paid for would be lost. So I'm unfortunately not risking it.
Meaning that Mill Rythe or Whitby will be a definite, think I'll attend the latter. That's in June, so wonderful weather will most likely happen & long bright days.
All who attend Canary Wharf..have a wonderful time!
        RON  ;D

What a night it was . PJ put on another amazing performance. It was reported on facebook that PJ was not well and suffering with a virus  :o  I had no idea.
The Pacemakers did their bit to make it a great night. They kicked off the evening with a great set, doing songs that were made famous by some of the singers that they have backed over the years which included brilliant versions of "Handbags and Glad rags" Keep on Running" "Out of Time" and "You'll Never Walk Alone"
It was fantastic to see PJ back on the stage again along with Sophie. He was on for a good hour and did 17 songs. I hope I've got this right :- Stagger Lee, Let's Have a Party, I'm Coming Back, Mission Bell, Lonely Weekends, Together, If I Can Dream, I'm in Love Again, Niki Hoeky, Maria, 3 Steps to Heaven, The Night has a Thousand Eyes, I Apologise, Question, Somewhere, Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya, Hold Me.
The applause at the end was long and loud and even PJ seemed surprised when a guy over-celebrating his birthday came on the stage and gave him a big cuddle. ;D
It was a special night and so nice to meet up with some old and new friends that had travelled from near and far to get to the show. Lovely to see Manja, Bjorn, Pauline, Marilyn and Jim, Joe and Maria, Sean, Billy and Margaret, Kathy and Sussi. Hope to see you all again soon.
Dave & Wendy :) :)

Thanks Dave & others for those great comments. I'm so pleased that a group of P.J. fans all met up for a chat & a larf before the show.
Lovely photos now on FB plus a clip of P.J. singing "I Apologise". It must have been a wonderful show. So sorry I didn't make it!
