I'm hoping soon that on the official site Part 3 of Proby's Life Story will soon appear.Us fans have been waiting a while & are bursting to read it & see some lovely pics.Same goes for neutrals who visit the site & read the story just to get wiser about P.J. Part 3 is about the 60's & is a huge story as it's the period when P.J. appeared on the scene big time & knocked us all for six.So important!! I know Manja you are very busy but maybe baby it could happen soon?
     Thanks,

Hi Ron,
You must be somewhat telepathic. You are right that at the moment we don't have the time for the whole Chapter Three of the Life Story, sorry. You're also right that it should be there soon. However, we've uploaded some very special 1965 photos from Horace Wetton as a start. If you go to the page for chapter three on the Life Story ("Prime Time") on Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login you could enjoy these!
Horace Wetton is a great photographer. He made his 1965 photos with a glass plate camera. Here's one as an example. Don't forget his photos are all copyrighted and you're not allowed to use them in any way without contacting him first. His contact details are on our website.

The photos by Horace are wonderful.....thanks Manja for showing them. Great that Horace is still active in the world of photography & that he's also taken some recent pics of P.J.
I shan't use the pics of course without Horace's permission, thanks for his contact details.
Look forward to seeing part 3 of the Life Story when it's ready but in the meantime these old B/W pics will keep us all very happy!

Thanks Ron,
However, Horace has informed me he would prefer if the fans wouldn't contact him directly. I've amended the text on our webpage. Maybe we'll make merchandise one day with these great photos...

The pics by Horace were taken on Tuesday, 2nd March, 1965. P.J. did two shows at The Victoria Hall,Hanley,Stoke-On-Trent. Supporting acts were:The Fourmost,The Chapters,The Art Woods,The Four Macs,Sandra Barry & Sid & Eddie. This comedy duo found great fame later as Little & Large!
Backing P.J. was The P.J.Proby Orchestra. The local newspaper reported that the show was enjoyable & not a trouser torn!

That's what the "Evening Sentinel" said!! No trace of any so-called scandalous behaviour onstage.

Hi Ron,
Would you happen to have a scan of the article? It would be great to put it on the website with the photos..

Here's another photo from this period from the third chapter of The Life Story. Alas we do not know who the photographer is. It's from the end of 1965/or 1966 and pictures P.J. Proby with his 14 piece Orchestra. Director is Dick MacPhearson.
Any additional info would be very welcome!

Great pic of P.J. with his orchestra, never seen that one before! Wonder how many of the guys are still around?
Manja, you asked me for a scan of the article about the Hanley,Stoke-on-Trent gigs on 2nd March,'65. I do have the article but it's taken from micro-film archives & barely readable.....lots of stripes running thru' the text.
I do know a lady who was at one of the gigs in the front row,Chris Clarke. She was thrilled to see the pics & is busy searching to find herself "somewhere". She,as a teenager, had the original newspaper article at the time but her boyfriend got jealous & tore it to shreds!! Typical!!

Ron & Manja. Just caught up with the latest on PJs life story. Great photos. And I really hope someone can put it all together in a book soon. I have been on constant look-out for his auto-biography for years, just in case someone gets around to doing it. What a fascinating read that will be. Till then, I will keep my fingers crossed.

There's a guy in Sweden writing a book about P.J. His name is Mikael Ekstrom. He's been working on it for years so I hope that soon it will be out. If, Mikael, you are on this forum under a pseudo name & read this message perhaps you can let us know how things are going.
Of course P.J.'s own autobiography has been ready & waiting for years for a publisher to bring it out.I've read some chapters & it's absolutely brilliant.....anyone know a book publisher who may be interested?? I sent the manuscript to Nik Cohn ages ago & he said it was the best non published book he'd ever read!! Praise indeed!

I didnt know about the chap in Sweden that was writing a book, but I really hope he does look on this site, and he can see the interest that is shown for a book to be released.
